Brandon Routh To Receive "Star Of Tomorrow" Award

Looks like Brandon Routh's work on the set of Superman Returns has impressed a lot of studio people. On March 16th Routh will be the ShoWest's recipient of the "Male Star Of Tomorrow" honors.

"Brandon Routh, star of the upcoming "Superman Returns," will be honored as ShoWest's Male Star of Tomorrow at the annual exhibitors convention, which begins March 13 in Las Vegas. He will receive the recognition March 16 at the closing-night ceremony at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel.
Let's be real here... this may mean nothing at all, but it should be looked at as nothing but positive (if anything at all). I've stood behind Singer's decision to cast Routh since the day it was announced for one reason and one reason only. Singer is a magician when it comes to casting his leads. His history shows he deserves the benefit of the doubt until proved otherwise.

I'm the same, I've been happy with the casting ever since the beginning. I myself have seen everything as good news that has been said about this movie. I cant wait. And this hopefully will be a good thing as well.

He'll join other great actors such as Will Smith and L Cool J. One can hope Routh is working on a clever catch phrase to say in all his movies and a rap song for Superman Return's release.

They're giving awards to people before they even frickin make a movie now? Come on, You should have at least 1 minute of screentime before you start winning awards.

I would have to agree with John on this one. Singer hasn't lead us wrong yet. Remember what we all felt when Hugh Jackman was first announced as Wolverine? We were like, "who is this guy?"

Singer couldn't have found a better Wolverine. I would bet he found the perfect "Superman" for his movie as well.

The difference is the first offical pictures has Hugh Jackman as Wolverine removed all doubts.

Also keep in mind Singer cast Hale Berry as Storm. Do you REALLY trust Singer without question?

Hey Rob...

When I look at the dozens of casting decisions made in Apt Pupil, The Usual Suspects and the X-Men franchise... and the ONLY mistake ended up being taking a calculated risk on a proven talent and Oscar winner like Halle Berry... then yes... he still has my total trust.

Hell... it's hindsight. Would I cast Halle Berry as Storm now? No way...

WOULD I have cast Berry as Storm before? Hell yes... and so would have most people. But hey... that ONE didn't work out.

Cheers!

Halle Berry won the oscar 3 years after being cast in Xmen. At that point she was only proven to play small roles in The Flintstones and Bulworth and not very well. Don't you remember her complaining that the best her agent could do was cast her in the Xmen?

She had already won Emmys and SAGs before X-Men.
