Movie Blog TV Launches

Hey there folks... John here.

As most of you know, I've been playing with ways to incorporate more video into The Movie Blog. However, there have been a few porblems. A few weeks ago when I put up the first filmed Audio Edition, so many people tried to download it that the site crashed. So I started hosting the next weeks video on a couple of other remote sites of mine... and they crashed too. I tried Bittorrent, but a lot of people complained to me that they don't use Bittorrent yet... so that wasn't really an option.

So along came the good folks at You Tube! From now on (or at least for the time being) the video versios of the Monday Audio Edtions as well as my upcoming 3 minutes film reviews will be hosted there on a page called Movie Blog TV.

The video streams pretty fast there and it solves all my bandwidth problems. Is this the final solution for video at The Movie Blog? Probably not... but for now it's a great step.

Right now there are only 3 videos up in there... but more will be added this week. Is this the perfect solution? No... it's not. But it's pretty good for now.

To go to Movie Blog TV you can click here.

To just see the February 20th 2006 Audio Edition you can click here.

Now I can focus on improving the technical side of things like better sound, video and lighting. This is a work in progress.

Whew, I thought by the title that you were going mainstream and would have to clean up the language in the audio blog. Right now, I can listen on headphones and laugh my a** off at work. You guys get outrageous!

Well done John. You are at the sharp end of a growing alternative media solution for the western world. Mainstream media is so jaded by it's corporate attachments that people are just sick of it. In an effort to obtain alternative opinions and un-biased reporting people are increasingly turning to online output. I think that if you continue to maintain technical progression then your future rewards could be HUGE. Keep it real and raw John - and keep Dougie!

Indeed, John! I may insult your ego from time to time, but I tell you what, Sir-- you're doing some pretty sweet stuff that deserves a little ego inflation. Bravo.

You could try broadcast machine, which goes along with the new democracty player. Seriously, screw anyone who doesn't keep up with technology. http://www.getdemocracy.com/broadcast/

Very nice either way, just a suggestion to keep track of them.
