Okay. Where to start...how about here.

1) Will Farrell's NASCAR comedy film. Wow. This might have potential. One of the best ten comedies? I don't know. Remains to be seen. Yes, some comedies show age and lose thier luster after some time, although I still laugh at Young Frankenstien. As for the "top ten" comedies in the past ten years? Will Farrell does have one film - Elf. I'll put 'Bowfinger' (1999) and 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding" on such a list.

2) Tornado movies. I had a bunch of friends who were obsessed with the film "Twister". Why I'll never know. But if there was a movie night, or right after a Michigan-Michigan State pigskin showdown... there it was. I had gotten a new crop of friends since.

Asteroid movies. Someone gave me that "Armeggedon" for Christmas once. A VHS pan and scan on top of it many years ago. They watched it first, thought, hey, Darren Seeley! He'll love this movie! I told those reltives just gimmie socks and shirts from now on; I hated every minute of this movie. When the same relatives tried to pass off Michael Bay's "Harbor" I disowned them for two years; moved out of town. More on that hackmeister in a bit.

Anyway, yeah, I don't care for trends in Hollywood. Sword and sandals were the rage for a time, I think comic books are still in vogue. But yeah, this Brokeback flick may have started a trend. BTW, Bugs Bunny once dressed in drag, if that means anything.

3) Audio Edition wasted on X Men crapola. All three of you ignored the fact that pickup shots and reshoots are a normal thing n any given movie. Even Bryan Singer on X2 had reshoots after production 'wrapped'. Nobody is at fault. Follow the breadcrumbs, gentlemen, and you will see that the reason for the rushed date (even when Matt Vaughn was on board) was to stick it to Singer. Nothing else. Nothing more. There is bad blood between Singer and Fox. That's why the rush to beat the man of Steel**

4) Basic Instinct. Hey----anyone remember that bruhaha on the first film where Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone's footage was cut by a few minutes because the rumor at the time was that, on film, they had done the deed?

*5) Now, about Bay. Looks like he's behind the Friday The 13th prequel (bad idea; it isn't Jason who will do the killing!) about the same time he gets the Chainsaw prequel out there (oh my)

**Warners is so strict on Superman, they threatened to take Universal/Focus Features to court--change the title of "Truth, Justice and The American Way" or else we'll sue! Focus blinked on the film about the investigation on the George Reeves death investigation; now it is called "Hollywoodland"

Hey Darren...

I've got to disagree with you on 2 points.

First of all... pickup shot are scheduled at the begining of every project. Pickup shots and reshoots have time alloted for them in every films shooting schedule.

Secondly, I think it's kind of "conspiracy theory" to think Fox ONLY scheduled X-Men release date just to "stick it to Singer". Singer has nothing to loose as an individual. Fox on the other hand has multiple millions to loose on messing up a franchise just to "stick it" to one guy who isn't even the money behind the project he's directing.

Just a thought. But other than that, good thoughts.

Cheers!

GWAR?

little known fact: GWAR are my favourite band of all time.

and they are not a joke!

they just celebrated their 20 year anniversery. they also still sell out almost every show they play (no mean feat considering the usual capacity at their shows is 1000 to 2000 people). they are still popular for a simple reason, they put on the best stage show you have ever seen. how can you complain about a metal show that showcases monsters from outer space fighting tyrannasaurus rexs and shit on stage?

they have put out like 11 albums, and their latest two ont heir new album have sold extremely well.

and they were one of the headlining acts for the sounds of the underground tour this year, billed just beneath lamb of god, who are as big as it comes with metal now adays. (well...not counting nu metal bands like slipknot or shit metal bands like metallica).

also, devin townsend from strapping young lad is producing their next album!

so yeah, gwar are still kicking, and are actually more popular now then they have ever been.

so in closing, go buy their newest studio album war party! if you like barbarians from outer space playing thrash metal and singing about doing drugs and killing things...they are your guys.

Good work as usual chaps.

Just a point though, can I recommend against using the PirateBay as your tracker, it has seriously bad connection problems and if the tracker times out no one can connect to the seeds to download it, as reubz has mentioned.

I can't think of a viable alternative atm but will ask around and see what would be best for you guys.

The X-Men one-sheets, when put together, look like the poster for Rent. Is that a good thing?

I don't like the idea of Freddy vs Jason vs Michael since Jason and Michael seem similar to me. So I thought they should put in Chucky or the Candyman, but the only active villains in the horror genre within the last 5 years are Freddy, Jason, and Chucky. So I'm thinking maybe a Freddy vs Jason vs Chucky movie but I'm actually against VS movies since they dont really have a winner.

About that horrible Xmen/Wedding analogy. Try this instead.

If Darrin scheduled his wedding in August and finds out that it's now hurricane season there and guests may not show or the wedding can be rainy and grey then why wouldn't it make sense to adjust? 2 months later and you've got a better chance at bright skies, happier people and a better planned event. It may piss some people off to have to reschedule their lives a bit but in the end you've got higher chances for something memorable.

Anyway, i dont really care since I've never understood everyones excitement over X-men. The first two were weak and this new one has so much going on that it looks like a trainwreck. Morlocks, Juggernaut, an unhot Psylocke, politics, sibling rivalry, overuse of black costumes, phoenix story, angel, a burnt collosus, beast, Magneto braveheart, kitty pride, Storm wants screentime... is there really going to be any room for wolverine to do more than just talk about his feelings?
