Spielberg says no Marry Poppins

SteveSpielberg.jpgWe talked about the possibility of Steven Spielberg bringing the Mary Poppins stage show to the big screen, well now we have the official denial.

From Ananova, a source that is quite often early with fact and sometimes wrong, comes the story:

Spielberg's spokesman Marvin Levy said: "I never heard of this and couldn't imagine Steven ever doing a remake of a classic - and a Disney classic at that.

"There's a Broadway show from Disney but nothing involving us in any way."

Well you've nothing to deny anyway, the story just said that the parties had talked about it, and perhaps they have...and perhaps they are still talking about it...Or perhaps he's seen the responses on the site and decided not to...ahem!

"I... couldn't imagine Steven ever doing a remake of a classic"

What on Earth does Levy think "War of the Worlds" was, then?
