Beowulf & Grendel trailer online

Beowulf-Butler.jpgThe trailer for the Beowulf & Grendel movie starring a fellow countryman of mine Gerard Butler has just gone online. All you ladies can rush to click immediately...however I'm not so excited.

When word of the project came out it just didn't capture my imagination, was there enough for a story to be really interesting and was it the right time for another epic from such times...I wasn't so sure, and now seeing the trailer hasn't convinced me any more.

There doesn't seem that much in the trailer that's showing me I'm wrong, or that there is much more of a story other than a few scenes, or that Grendel is anything but a foot larger than any other man...

You can see the trailer in either Quicktime at 9.1Mb or Twitch have the link to the Windows Media version if you're so inclined. The official site has the lot too. What do you think?

Oh Rich, give over! Any film with Gerald Butler is enough for us ladies.

Are you keeping an eye on his '300' project? I heard it's looking good too! *winks*

Gah!

I saw this "film" at the Toronto Film Festival.

Its bad. So bad it hurts.

The only redeeming thing about this crappy movie is the scenery as it was shot in beautiful Ice Land.

My distatse grew to hate when the writer of the film decided to get argumentative with the review over at Twitch. The dude actually posted at Twitch all pissy like because it was given a poor review, you made a shitty movie man, deal with it.

I think I'll wait for the 2007 Robert Zemeckis one.

The trailer isn't all that impressive, but I'm a sucker for movies with rugged men whirling swords. LoL

Meli, is that really the reason???? LOL

Hmmm...I dunno. I'm a huge fan of the story. The trailer doesn't disappoint me in the least. Also, This just may be the first Viking movie that actually gets the costumes right. It looks to me that this movie might actually try to come up with a plausible "true" Beowulf story...at least better than Eaters of the Dead (13th Warrior). Gerry Butler and Stellan Skarsgard are both fine actors that we never get to see enough of. I hear that Brendan Gleeson is Hrothgar in the other one, so I'll see them both.

I personally can't wait to see this movie and I thought the
trailer was wonderful and it just made me want to see it that much more.

In the trailer, I thought Gerry has a really STRONG Scottish accent there when he introduced himself as BEOWULF. *winks*
