Rob Cohen directing Russ Meyer biopic

Now here's a bizarre one, Rob Cohen has apparently optioned the Russ Meyer biography, "Big Bosoms and Square Jaws: The Biography of Russ Meyer, King of the Sex Film" by Jimmy McDonough, to make into a movie with him directing. That's Cohen, not Meyer.

From Coming Soon.

Meyer, who died in September 2004 at the age of 82, was the infamous director of sexploitation romps such as The Immoral Mr. Teas and Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens and Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!...

..."Most importantly, this is a love story about Meyer and his centerfold wife and the way they worked together to create themselves as much as the movies they were making," Cohen told the trade.

It's an interesting departure for Cohen and what he's used to doing, but this might be an interesting story to tell and something which would mean no big explosions!

Not a complete departure, as he's done biopics before. But certainly this will be of a different order to the rest of his filmography if it goes ahead...
