Poseidon trailer online

Poseidon.jpgYes the remake we've all been looking forward to (eh?!) is here. The trailer for Poseiden is now online.

I'm at work, so you have to review it for everyone else. Go over to Apple trailers, take a look, then come back here and write a few lines about what you think.

I can't believe that they are remaking this movie...I still can't...it's a classic cheese disaster movie, how can you remake that?

On hearing about this, my reaction was the same. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Having seen the trailer I'm not quite so sure. It certainly look big and bold. The effects look impressive, but these days that's a big so what. The "from the director of Troy and The Perfect Storm" didn't hurt either (if you ignore the Troy bit). The tag line could be "We got a bigger boat!"

Seriously though being post 9/11 and post Tsunami this might just work. But the bar has been set pretty high. For my money Poseidon is up there with Towering Inferno in my all time best disaster movies. Shelly Winters swim scene gets my lip trembling every time.

The big question for me is can Kurt Russell match Gene Hackman?

Dont forget good cheese takes time to mature.

Wow, I was taken aback at that trailer, it looks like a really good film actually. Sure trailer to movie is a big leap, but on there it looks a lot more than a remake of a matured cheese film (totally agree with the mature statement Randall, good call).

I think this looks great, and two faces did a lot for me. When I see Richard Dreyfuss in a movie I always feel that there's going to be a huge amount of believeability in the performance, he always delivers no matter what the movie. Then there's Kurt Russell, always a good fun actor, but again always delivers a great performance, no matter the movie.

This has rocketed up my to watch list!

I liked this better when it was called Titanic.

Doesnt look bad at all!

It seems like that there are a lot of films due for a May release next year! X3, Da Vinci Code and now this one!

Like others just hearing about it had me groaning but when I saw the actors particularly Kurt Russell I was intrigued. I will more than likely be spending next May in the local cineplex.

Someone please comment... wasn't there just a "Made for TV" remake of the "Poseidon Adventure" on like NBC or something during November sweeps???

I agree with Richard, Dreyfuss always delivers. Kurt's have had som good movies. Poseidon seems like a entertaining popcorn-flick.

yes, there was a made for tv movie of the poseidon adventure, but it is not nearly as good as the one made for theaters, obviously. AND. just because its a movie about a ship disaster, doesnt mean its a copy of the Titanic. Two totally different stories, airhead.
