Pierce Brosnan returns to Remington Steele?

PierceBrosnan.jpgAfter continually slagging off the people behind Bond, it looks like Pierce Brosnan is keen to recover his glory days as an undercover agent, but not as Bond, as another even more cheesy spy. Remington Steele!

Yes, I could hardly believe the news either. From Hello Magazine comes the amazing suggestion.

"I think there's an audience, there's a sentimental memory for it,"

Unfortunately that's as close to a quote of "Yes I'll do Remington Steele next" as there is, it's ambiguous, and might not be I'll do it. However the article goes on to say...

Before reprising the role of the suave detective, the 53-year-old is lined up to portray a brutal kidnapper, who rips a family apart in Butterfly On A Wheel, and make a sequel to The Thomas Crown Affair.

So nothing too concrete, but surely if this is true it's more of a knee-jerk reaction to the Bond dump than anything? Why would he want to recreate a character that's so close to Bond, just when he's starting to show he can distance himself from all that?

He's right about having an audience, as I was one of those who loves Remington Steele (oh and also Moonlighting).

The only way a film version will work is to cast Stephanie Zimbalist opposite Brosnan. Now that will be JUST GREAT!

Well, I for one would watch it. I was another fan of that 'cheesy' show.
