Highlander: The Source completes filming

Highlandtv.jpgThe filming on set for the movie Highlander: The Source is complete, in fact it completed on December the 8th, and that's from Duncan MacLeod himself Adrian Paul. This is the first in a trilogy of Highlander movies which will start hitting us in 2006.

Coming Soon carries the news from Adrian Paul's own site.

On a cold Lithuanian day, in the early hours of December 8, we finally finished the main unit shooting of Highlander: The Source and we were scrambling right to the end...

...We were also able to use what we affectionately named the "Eddie Stacey Dolly." (Stop it! It is not a blow-up doll.) This was a metal frame attached to wheels that the camera sits within. The actor can smash the rubber tubing attached to the square framework, so when viewed it feels as if the audience is within the fight itself.

Sounds an interesting take on 1st person movie fighting...but still, more 1st person? I'm not sure if I'm that excited about this movie, the Highlander series ended a long time ago for me and never met its previous success nor its potential. Is this just more of someone flogging a dead horse for some die hard fan sales?

Well, the main problem with 'Highlander' is rather simple: according to the rules, There Can Be Only One.

Another problem is the timeline/continuity, not just from the films, but the series itself.
(Highlander 4)

I think as long as they can put a new spin on this and make it fresh, they can keep going.

Can't believe they are still churning out this rubbish. They should have stopped after the 1st film.
