Interesting. I just checked one of the local multiplexes for the Lion...etc, bear in mind there are six or seven in Edinburgh, but there's only the first showing sold out at 09:30. The more popular showings for Thursday night (opening night, from 17:00) don't have more than three rows booked in every cinema. Even showings on Saturday aren't swamped, still only a few rows taken.

That's not to say it won't be mobbed. I've booked like that in the same cinema, with only a few seats taken, and come showtime the theatre's packed. I think a lot more people buy tickets on arrival here than prebook.

This has been getting horribly mismarketed in the UK outside of theatres though.

Seriously I've seen countless proper Kong TV spots for weeks now but the only ads I've seen for Narnia are tie-in ads that are actually for a freakin' fabric softener.

They did the same for Zorro.

Again, no wonder movies are bombing when the advertising for the movie is more concerned with advertising revenue ultimately leaving a situation where the movie is being used to push a car or some household cleaner.

It's sickening.

Juggernaut actually looks real and Angel is beautiful. Take another look at the trailer at 1:24 and you'll see the Cannon Ball Special with Collosus throwing Wolverine into the air. Tell me your not looking forward to that!! And take a look at the scene in the woods whe Magneto is giving his speech and you'll see Jean Gray (or maybe it's Pheonix?), to the far right, damn I can't wait for this movie.
