Serenity DVD details!

serenity.jpgThe news is out about Serenity on DVD. I caught the information through Movies Online who sourced it from DVD Times. So without further ado, let me just leap into the specifications:

Technical Features
  • Anamorphic Widescreen and Full Screen Presentations
  • English and French DD5.1 Surround
  • English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles

Bonus Materials

  • Feature Commentary with Writer/Director Joss Whedon

  • Deleted Scenes

  • Outtakes

  • Future History: The Story of Earth That Was

  • What's in a Firefly

  • Re-Lighting the Firefly

  • Joss Whedon Introduction
  • It's looking like a December 20th release date, just in time for Christmas, I can see this popping onto my friend Martin's wishlist as of close of play today! I guess it will be falling on a lot of wishlists around the world. The only things I can see missing here are a DTS track and a full cast commentary, both would make this something really special. Still, I think it might turn out a good DVD, and these are only the initially released specs.

What are your thoughts? Anything missing you'd like to see?

Serenity was a great film so I am really looking forward to getting hold of it on DVD.

Morbius, where did you get great?

    Ooh, shiny.

If there is an extended edition make it part of this release. A branching option with the deleted scenes included vs the theatrical cut should be part of the package as well.

Can't wait to pick this up. I agree that it would've been nice to have commentary from the cast in addition to Joss, but I'll take a Whedon commentary over nothing.

You would not understand Simone, you were too busy playing with your mobile phone during the film remember?

No but how can you say a film is great, and that this film is considered great? (well at least by you) What are you basing it on? I am really interested to know.

Unlikely. As with the TV show the vast majority of the people who saw Serenity really loved it. Alas not nearly enough people watched either.
