Munich trailer online
Another highlight of the weekend is the trailer for the much talked about Steven Spielberg movie Munich.
The trailer is over at Movies Online, if you can cope with that horrendously annoying spider advert on the site - isn't advertising supposed to entice you? As usual, head over and take a look and then come back here to tell us what you think.
For me the trailer puts a different spin on the story than the one I was expecting, and the focus on Bana is good. There's a strong looking cast, the new Bond included, and it looks like it's going to be huge on the moral aspect. What do you think?

The advertising is something which you should speak to John about if you feel that strongly. It's there to enable him to pay for the site and keep it running.
As for a written apology, I think perhaps you under estimate the work that goes into this site and to get these stories online. It's far from a small amount of time, and we are giving up a lot to try and bring an interesting site to everyone.
The "question to the reader" is far from new, it's something we've always done to try and engage the reader to become engaged and discuss the topic. Grating for you or not, it's these questions that are asked to get the comments flowing, otherwise we would become a site of simply posting news items.
After all that I'm glad you like the site, personally, I give so much of my time to here that I'd hate to think it wasn't deemed as interesting or engaging.

Shouldn't we be dicussing Munich in this thread? To release a film about this subject NOW is likely to be very controversial. Even though I know it's not a gun-ho get revenge and kill an arab type film I am very interested to find out what the international reaction is going to be to this movie?

Good point, although it goes back to the issue we discussed ages ago around whether a 9/11 movie should be made and if it was the wrong time for it.
There's never a right time, and a movie like this which should carry an important moral message (since it's Spielberg) would surely not be as effective or poigniant if it's not controversial or hard hitting.

Hey,
The music in this trailer is from 'The New World' and 'The Life of David Gale' ! Just mention this in case you thought this was the new score from John Williams. Doesn't sound remotly to Williams anyway.

It will be interesting to see how they pull this off. I did like the trailer. I thought it was very powerful. And I do want to see more Bana in movies.

Hey Richard,
The Movie Blog has the most annoying and least enticing advertising of all my daily stops. Someone at TMB needs to turn off the full-screen, faux-pop-up, faux-XP advertisments that appear over your content, and submit a written apology to all readers :)
Also the newly instituted "question to the reader" at the end of each post is a bit grating. It seems like an attempt to drive viewership and advertising via the comments section.
Regardless, I do like the site. Thanks for all your effort.
