Cronenberg's Dead Ringers TV series

DavidCronenberg.jpgYes, Hollywood latches onto another concept and it starts propogating like mad. We've just had the news of the Terminator TV Series, and now we're getting word that David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers movie is going to be made into a TV series too.

The BBC say that Cronenberg will co-produce and direct, but not write, that honour will be down to Wesley Strick who just worked on the Doomscript.

Are we set to see a spate of movies come to the small screen?

It could be worse -- or it will be, once we see these movies-turned-into-TV-series:

-APOCALYPSE NOW - THE SITCOM. Every week, Chef ends an episode with "Never get out of the boat!" and the image freeze-frames with a Big Hearty Laugh. Special Guest Star: A bald Roseanne Barr as Col. Kurtz.

-CSI: L.A.CONFIDENTIAL. Every week, our hardboiled cops uncover forensic evidence in 1950s L.A.

-THE ROAD WARRIOR'S SCARIEST POLICE CHASES. "Mad" Max Rockatansky, The Road Warrior, takes us through footage of the wildest police chases of the post-nuclear wasteland. Theme song "We Don't Need Another Speed Bump" by Tina Turner.

Christopher Eccleston would be wonderful in the duel roles.
