V for Vendetta gets rating

V4VendettaMask.jpg...and the interesting thing is that's it's an 'R' rating. From Comic Book Movie:

Warner Bros.' V for Vendetta movie will be rated R for strong violence and some language, according to the Motion Picture Association of America.

Now there's nothing said that there are going to be cuts or re-edits to make it anything other than an 'R', and that sounds promising that they are staying with the ideas and subject matter and are more than willing to make this a strong movie. So many movies that hit that rating then announce that they've recut down to a PG-13 and then we're treated to a nicely watered down version, but not so here...well so far.

Could this mean that we're in for a gem of a movie, or does it mean nothing at all other than violence and scariness?

I think most of the comic book adaptaions that get an R rating are the better ones being filmed. Sin City and The Punisher are clear examples of that.........

I agree(Punisher was good :))..I like the idea behind V for Vendetta
and it looks pretty good(Trailer available on website).Only thing I have aginst it is the wig they put on Hugo Weaving lol, it looks horrible. Besides that we seem to be in for all the terrorism goodness that is Codename V with this R rating
