New Harry Potter Runs Over Two and A Half Hours

Don't buy that extra large pop at the concession stand before going in to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire... cause if you do you may end up needing the cup to piss in.

The longest of the Harry Potter movies to date is ringing in at 2 hours and 37 minutes. That's a lot of Potter. However, if The Lord of the Rings Taught us anything at all... if you make a solid quality movie, then length doesn't matter. Everything if seen for it looks good so far, but I haven't seen the final edit or all the visual effects yet. Time will tell... but just in case sit close to the doors so you a make a bolt for the bathroom if you need to.

This book has a ton of content. It needs to be this long.

"The longest of the Harry Potter movies to date is ringing in at 2 hours and 37 minutes"

I believe you'll find the second one, "Chamber of Secrets", actually clocks in at 2 hours 41 minutes.

Two and a half houres is just too less. OH no this is gonna be another disaster, like the past potter movies  for the booklovers. Oh why can't they do it like Lord of the rings, and leave the story alone. There is so much content in the movie, trust me those who made the movie didn't have a clue.
Stupid greedy lil companies.

Personaly I wouldn't mind if the movie was three hours long. Tough for kids to sit through but screw the kids, more power to adults, especially adults without kids.

3 hrs would seem fair for all that needs to be in this next movie. The last movie cut a lot of content out from the book. My kid (9) and I would have no problem sitting through a 3 hour movie. She made it through all LOTR movies at least twice in the movie theater - she's pretty hardcore when it comes to something she likes.

Sorry I talked crap against parents and kids Meli. My apologies to you and your daughter may she continue to love movies and sit through them quietly.

In case MAL has not read the LOTR books, the movies still had to cut a lot. The Harry Potter movie makers have to make the same hard decisions that Peter Jackson and the LOTR screenwriters had to make. They can still be excellent movies. No matter what something will always be cut that someone will miss. There is no avoiding that.

2 1/2 hours just isnt enough when you take into conseideration how much they cut out. they dont even have the begining of the book in there. i mean they cut out mrs.weasley and the dursleys so i know that 2 1/2 just isnt enough. they need to take a book and go by it page by page and make the movie the same! this would make it so much better. i mean wtf is up with them making movies that are 4 hours long but when they are able to make a better movie they cut all kinds of stuff out. i just wish i had the names of the ppl who are making the harry potter movies and i would write to them untill my hand falls off and hopefully that would make them somehow actually put everything in the book in the movie!!! i was really disapointed when i found out how much they cut out of the other books, they are just ruining the stories! LEAVE IT ALONG!!!! !@$##$#% cant say what i would like to
