Indiana Jones 4 Casting!

Take this with a large grain of salt, but it's being buzzed that Indiana Jones 4 may finally have some solid momentum going with news that Laura Dutta, a 19 year old model has supposedly landed a role in Indiana Jones 4 with a "small speaking role".

The good folks over at AICN give us the following:

It is official! Model Laura Dutta represented by ASH Models has landed a role in Indiana Jones 4. The movie is the 4th sequel in the Indiana Jones franchise and will cast Harrison Ford and Sean Connery. Indiana Jones 4 is to be directed by Steven Spielberg.
So is this news real? Well... the sources credited seem credible enough, but even the guys over at AICN raise a very good point... we thought Sean Connery had retired!! So is this just a hoax from someone who is a year behind on their movie news (they obviously don't read The Movie Blog enough) or do they really know something the rest of us didn't?

I tend to lean to the "it's real" side on this one. Harrison Ford has nothing but time... George Lucas has a LOT more free time now that Star Wars is put to bed, and although Spielberg is busy now... he has less on his future calendar than he has in a while. Things seem to be in place to really get moving soon for Indiana Jones 4. At least I hope so.

You know what, I would go see it if Jonathan Ke Quan came back as Short Round.. other than that.. eh. I would probably see it, but I don't know what it would take to get me interested enough to see it in theatres. Hmm... and who is this 19 year old model again?

"Maybe he likes 'older' women."

So many Short Round quotes.. so little time.

Seems to me no matter what Connery said about retiring he would do another Indiana Jones just because they must be alot of fun, at least a cameo.

"The movie is the 4th sequel in the Indiana Jones franchise..."

um, NO. it's the fourth movie in the franchise but the THIRD sequel.

you can always could on the good folks at AICN to make a factual blunder!

good point Dr. T. I had forgotten that Temple was a prequel.

Ofcourse thats not what you meant is it? But you still reminded me of it being a prequel.

I pray to the Lord this never gets made. I like the previous three films (Temple in particular), but this is going to be lame. Have you seen Harrison lately? That guy is flappy and wrinkly.

Fredo I too am a fan of the originals and the young Indiana series and as hurtfull as it is to say I may agree with you. I am scared of another Indiana, it has bee a long while since Crusades. He is not the young man he once was that's for sure. Ofcourse I will go see it.
