Casanova Trailer

Casanova7.jpgCasanova is one of those films that was bound to happen sooner or later in an original idea starved Hollywood. Now, the Casanova trailer has arrived. The cast is quite good. Heath Ledger, Sienna Miller, Jeremy Irons and Oliver Platt (I love that guy). The question has always been "what kind of approach will they take with a film project like this one?" A serious drama? A romantic comedy? An action adventure?

The first part of the trailer has a lot of promise. It gives the impression of a more serious tone with a look at the "mythological" side of Casanova. However, around the 30 second mark the trailer spins out of control into some cheap feeling romantic comedy with no less than 2 dozes cliches, two dimensional characters and corny dialog.

I was excited about this flick... but not anymore. If you'd like to see the trailer you can view it here.

Seriously... if it was a serious piece, then it had potential...
