Around The Web - October 3rd 2005

Around the Web is a daily feature where we highlight some of the days movie related stories from across the internet that we think you may find interesting. If you come across something that you think we should share with the rest of the world, please contact John with the link.

  • Lynda Carter Talks New Wonder Woman
  • Barbra Streisand to focus on directing
  • Batman Vs. Wolverine - Well at least the actors. "X-Men" star Hugo Jackman and "Batman Begins" star Christian Bale are stripping off their claws and cape, respectively, to play rival magicians in "The Prestige"
  • Doctors blast Hollywood for not promoting safe sex - Since when is it Hollywood responsibility to "promote" anything?
  • Les Miserables being turing into musical movie - If done right, this will be a HUGE hit
  • Exclusive STAR WARS DVD at Wal-Mart - STAR WARS fans who buy REVENGE OF THE SITH at Wal-Mart will also score a Wal-Mart exclusive bonus DVD. The DVD is entitled THE STORY OF STAR WARS.
  • All time worst sex scenes in movies - Totally subjective list, but fun

Hey John, thanks for the link on Miss Streisand. *winks* I am a HUGE Barbra Streisand fan, and I agree, she should be getting back in the director's chair and give us more memorable movies. She should have been the first female director nominated for an Academy (no offense to Miss Coppola) had they nominated her for directing "Prince of Tides".

I love Wal-mart, they should have franchise stores here in the UK. For the UK release of RoTS, when you get the DVD from Woolworth's, you can buy the Speaking Yoda for half price, I am so looking forward to get my grubby little hands to that one!

I enjoyed the Les Miserables non-musical version released in the 90's, it will be interesting to see a musical movie for this one, not surprising since almost all Broadway and West End shows are doing it!
