X-Men 3 Gets Multiple Man?

This whole X-Men thing is getting way out of hand. There are already 3461 characters in X-Men 3 and I guess we can add another one to the ever growing list.

The good folks over at Cinescape are reporting that Eric Dane has been cast as Multiple Man. Here's what they had to say about it:

Dane apparently has approximately 50 extra's for his duplicates, and his character is allied with the Brotherhood, but seems to be apart of Omega Red's faction.
What? Omega Red is in it too? Why don't they just call it "X-Men 3: Everyone Gets 5 Minutes Of Fame". This just keeps getting worse.

And Multiple Man (aka Jamie Madrox) is a stupid character. I'm not just saying that becuase he has a stupid name... it's a stupid character in a stupid looking movie that just gets stupider everyday I launch my web browser. Does anyone actually have any hope left for X-Men 3?

It bottomed out, at least to me, when they cut Gambit out of it. People had been waiting all this time for who might be the most popular or very close to the most popular of all the x-men. I mean it isn't like you need to even bother with plot, jsut throw him in and have him say something smooth and energize some things.

After they cut him and started adding in all these characters no one really cared about, then I need it was going downhill. Following that came the announcment of who would be getting more screentime and that brought it even lower. I mean reall, who cares about Halle Berry. Storm is a boring character to most people.

It all started right after X-men ended and they announced that Phoenix would make an appearence at best in the next movie and X-men 4 would be about her, then they went and turned it all around and started just like combining the two movies into one, saying that they might add everything they promised in the 3rd one along with the 4th one that seems like a total myth now.

My guess at this point is you are going to see each one go off and do their own little plotline and somehow end up back together to save the world. Unless the movie ends up being four hours long, I would bet it is going to be rushed and alot of people are going to be whining about their screentime.

They cut Gambit?! I didn't know that. That sucks! I can't believe they are putting in all these other characters, but not him. That's really disappointing.

hey john. i can prove you wrong. want to LIKE the multiple man? i can make that happen.

you have my email.... if you dont like him i dont know how you could have ever been truely exposed to him... he's a wonderfully funny character.

HOWEVER... ahem... brotherhood? him as a villain would definitely suck big floppy mastadon thingy. he's a light hearted prankster with a few skeletons that really dont get in the way of his very awesome power.

and you are correct. X men 3 is either DOOMED for suckageness ... or 90% of these rumors are little more than ... than.... um.. one of those cool jewish insults that i can say but not spell.

i assure you. the first possibility cannot be true. This will be a fine film , and when we watch it, we'll be thinking "god... that guy i work with that said that quicksilver and the scarlet witch would have a 9 way orgy with the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse, Hagar the Horrible and a rusty trailler hitch is a total dumbass."

i think that eric dane should have just played gambit...not multiple man. i think they kinda messed up though by making rogue too young and with iceman. although gambit could just be a pimp and mack on all the other chicks that the movie would have to offer just like the cartoon.
