Star Wars The Musical

I just came across this site where they are putting together a 3D animated musical version of Star Wars. From what I can tell it's strictly a fan made thing... but man is it looking fun so far.

Right now they have most (if not all) of the songs available to listen to in MP3 format... but they also have one full CGI video up called "One Season More". Any Star Wars fan worth their salt will immediately identify this with when Uncle Owen tells Luke he can't go join the academy yet... that he needs him for just one more season on the moisture farm.

I was amazed by the quality of the music. You really have to go over and take a look at it... then come back here and leave your comments.

The writers have done a lovely job of imitating the style of Andrew Lloyd Webber. It's an admirable effort and the production values are high, but it makes me wonder how long it's going to be until a composer comes along who can break free of Webber's rooty tooty fresh and fruity style. ;-)

I liked when they sang with the original movie themes and some of the parts cracked me up like when suddenly chewie comes up with a ROAAAR! in the middle. Quality stuff

The production on that CG clip was incredible! Really cool stuff (and funny too).

I've been checking in on that site from time to time. Fun stuff, good comedic timing (C3P0 on The Walls Are Closing In), good music.

The best tracks I've heard so far are; "Do You Speak Bocce" with Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru singing and Han Solo and Chewie in "Docking Bay 94".

Its hilarious! ;-)
