Ruby Slipper from Wizard of Oz Stolen

RubySlippers.jpgI don't think I've met a single person in real life who has ever said to me "I don't like The Wizard of Oz". It's just one of those things we've all grown up with... we've all seen as kids and all have special memories of. Well... recently an important part of those childhood memories has been snatched.

According to news sources, a pair of the Ruby Slippers worn by Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz were stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids. And at this point, the police don't really have any evidence or leads. So keep your eye open on eBay folks. As a side note, the slippers were insured for one million dollars.

How many pairs are there? I saw a pair at the Smithsonian in DC, and they said those were THE shoes. Now I feel lied to. Hope they catch the bastards who stole them, though. Old as those shoes are, if they try to put them on, they will fall apart.

From what I heard, there were 4 pairs. I saw a pair at Disney/MGM Studios in Florida.

Oh that line is just begging me to say something.

"I don't like The Wizard of Oz"!

If we met, and you asked, I'd say it. Actually, I come from a long line of Oz-haters.

If I had the ruby red slippers, i'd eat them, they look so f@#kin delicious! Then I would poop them out and find Liza Minnelli and force feed her the digested slippers. Her voice sounds like shit anyway.
