Fun With Dick and Jane Goes Under Massive Rework

I am a Jim Carrey fan and I've been looking forward to his new flick Fun With Dick and Jane (co-staring one of the most beautiful women on the planet Téa Leoni). The film itself looks like it could go either way... but I've got hope for it. Or at least I did.

Now, once a film is done, it's quite normal for the director to decide to change a couple of things and re-shoot some stuff. That's fine. But apparently everyone has been called back to work through a MASSIVE amount of reshoots. The good folks over at Cinema Blend give us this:

According to DH, the film has had over 60 pages of rewrites done to the script (this is after the thing has already been shot and completed mind you), and they’ll be spending 5 weeks to shoot them. 5 weeks?? For some film’s that’s their entire shooting schedule. For Fun With Dick and Jane, a movie that’s already spent 114 days shooting I guess it’s just a drop in the bucket. The movie is currently scheduled for December release
I find this strange since early reports say that test screenings have been pretty positive. Did they find something really wrong with the final product? Or are they about to ruin something that could have been pretty good? I guess we'll have to wait to find out.
