Domino Trailer

DominoPic.jpgI know this has been posted a long time ago, however it's just appeared on the Apple site and made me think about seeing it in the cinema, and you know what? It's a terrible trailer.

The repetitive voice over "I am a bounty hunter" and a collection of images and short shots does nothing for me and actually leaves me feeling confused and irritated. Have you seen it? Like it or do you feel like me, it's a bit of a mess? Seems odd considering it's Director...

Ummm.. Which trailer are you watching? The teaser, or the NEW one?

In the NEW one, she says "I'm a bounty hunter" once. The NEW one rocks and I almost wet my pants.

I do understand the issues you might have with the "Michael Bay" style quick cutting and slick look can be annoying - but Tony Scott is certainly no Michael Bay. Just look at Man On Fire, this is the same style but there was definitly an emotional punch to the subject matter.

This movie though, will rest on the performace of Keira Knightley - so far I'm a little iffy on weather (a) she can make me belive she's a bounty hunter and (b) make me care about her.

Word was that when Harvey herself was alive, she was not a fan of this movie, that may say something - though I am looking forward to seeing this movie.

Thanks,
Kevin

Oh come on Rich; "Numchukes are Good!" Walken is the man.

I agree with Rich on this one...I have seen both trailers, and they both look like messes. It looks like they just threw together a bunch of action scenes and called in a movie. Maybe that is the point though...to confuse the hell out of you so you have to go see the movie to see what the stupid trailer was trying to tell you!!! I don't think I will go see it unless we get a good review here from other bloggers.

Okay, now I'm home I can actually watch it. It is different to the first one, but I still think it's a bit of a clutter. It has more to say to me than the first "teaser", but it's still not attractive. I expected more.

Oh, and she say's it twice.

Oh, excuse me...

But still, why so criticial of a trailer? Since when do trailers show how good (or bad) a film will be?

I remember the trailer for Supernova. The trailer made the movie look like a campy, action-filled sci-fi thriller. What we got was sloppy writing, unnecssary nudity, and a failed wet dream.

Okay, bad example.

Still, I have faith Dominio will kick major booty.

Domino is high on my 'movies that will make me happy' list at the moment - I guess I do have a thing for Knightley (and have posted the photos to prove it over on my blog: www.darkmatt.blogspot.com)

Tony Scott can be a genius on his day - so fingers are crossed that Domino delivers!
