Daniel Radcliffe as young Bond

Via Ananova, it appears that Daniel Radcliffe from the Harry Potter franchise is in consideration to star as the ladies man special agent 007. Unrelated to the recent debates on the new face of Bond, this will be a movie covering Bond in his youth.

The film will be an adaptation of book Silverfin written by Charlie Higston about the secret agent as a 13-year-old.

A source said: "With it being so popular around the world, the book is certain to make the big screen. It has all the hallmarks of a hit. Murder, mystery, action and a young James Bond.

"Daniel Radcliffe would be perfect but they are also looking at Jamie Bell. They want to make the young Bond a bit older so they can have one of those two names."

Personally I enjoy the Harry Potter films. I am a fan of fantasy and have been excited with the comeback of the genre. On the other hand I can't say I see Radcliffe taking on the role. Not because of a lack of talent, but a professional decision. This just sounds like another Agent Cody Banks type movie which would seriously hurt this kids career. Of course if you're a big Bond fan, you may feel differently. Would a movie surrounding the adventures of a young Bond get your motors running? Or is this just a flick you would take your kids to?

This won't happen. In a few days the Bond producers will issue a statement saying this was all a rumor, etc.

They'd never change the franchise that drastically, it's too risky.

I haven't read the book, but if Hollywood is dipping it's claws into this I see another kiddie spy movie, which I'm not sure we need. I enjoyed watching Spy Kids with my daughter, the first Cody Banks was all right, but the second I wanted to scratch my eyes out.

I know there were a couple of other spy kid type movies, but we skipped them because frankly they weren't worth the time. Unless the producers can give us something smart, I hope they don't bother with this.

i never saw one harry potter movie because they all look pointless.

but this is going to far, i would father stop bond and end it on a good note, than suck te life out of the franchise.

Guile, I understand it is each persons opinion on whether to see movies or not and if you like them or not but I will say as someone who opposed the first Potter movie having known nothing about them other than the immense hype, once I finally gave in and saw it I liked it. I have enjoyed the series and have gotten interested in the books to the point that now when a new one comes out I read it in the first few days. I went from hating the hype of it to being addicted. So who knows maybe give it a chance, then again its your call and you know what you enjoy better than anyone.
