This Divided State

A Documentary about a documentarian. Sounds interesting. A Documentary about Michael Moore in Utah. Now that sounds really interesting. The synopsis for the film says:

This Divided State is a raw and riveting examination of the firestorm created when Utah Valley State College invited controversial filmmaker Michael Moore to speak on campus.
The trailer is really well done. It should be pointed out that it also looks like it has a pro Moore bias to it (however, as I've tried to point out to many many people... ALL documentaries have a bias to them, and that's ok. Otherwise it would be a newscast and not a documentary). Still, it looks fascinating. I've writen to the producers to see if I can get my hands on a copy. I'll review it for you here when they send me one.

For now, you can go see the trailer for the film here.

I don't agree with the things Michael Moore says, but I think he's a very worthy subject for a documentary, because he's one of the most talented, creative people working in film today.

Besides being a brilliant film-maker he's a genius publicist, and there're nothing "mere" about publicity. Knowing how to get lots of the right publicity for your film so it sells is vital. A lot of people could learn from Michael Moore on how to take a gutsy, controversial message, not pull any punches, and still find all the potential audience for your film, in America and all over the world.

If more people had that talent, I think there wouldn't be any movie slump, even with the competition from computer games.

Are you saying newscasts don't have a bias?? ;)

I just finished watching Orwell Rolls In His Grave... it deals a lot with this issue. It's definitely an interesting documentary, although a little dry at times.

Michael Moore is okay, but he mixes the truth with his own opinions. Almost on the point of lieing, but thats okay.

We should be able to know and tell what the lies are and what the truth is from our own views.

I am a military man and think Michael Moore is full of shit...however, that being said, he is good at a brilliant publicist. All documentaries however, are flooded with bias...and if you even pay attention to the things his documentaries talk about like the war and gun control and all the rest of the things liberal bastards say...you will realize it is all propaganda.

The fact that Michael "The Hat" Moore gets all of this attention is bewildering to me.

Bowling for Columbine was the only film that had credibility. When he attacked Bush in Fahrenheit 9/11 and called it a "documentary" when clearly it was a blatant attack on America and nothing more than moore on his soapbox, he lost all of my respect for his work.

Can the guy learn to shave and perhaps get rid of the hat?

SHEEP! YOU'RE ALL SHEEP!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

On topic, the people in the trailer actually creeped me out, it's called an opinion, agree with it or disaree with it, and you disagree with it, say why, not just 'Shut up' or the like which everyone in that trailer seems to be doing.

WOW! That trailer touched on every subject, feeling, and thought I've had since 9/11. I'm goning to watch this movie opening night. Oh and screw that fat a-hole Michael Moore.

i can't download the trailer just answer me this

"is the movie against micheal moore and is it going to play in theaters or on TV"

A very interesting film, but I don't think I could watch it. Just seeing a few minutes of the inflexible, totalitarian, undemocratic, near-fascist attitude displayed by some people has me on edge and reaching for the stop button.
