Goblet of Fire International Trailer

Harry_Potter76.jpgAnother big scoop for Coming Soon in the finding of the International Trailer for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire over at Allocine.fr. That's a direct link, available in differing formats and with non-intrusive french subtitles.

The word was that this one was going to be darker, compared to the material before it certainly was (I'm told by reliable sources), and the movie certainly does seem to be according to the trailer anyway. More action and danger are exactly what this series needs.

What do you think of the trailer? Does it do the story justice? Should the series on film get harder, darker and more adult?

Personally I think it looks great. I have been very impressed with the Harry Potter series and I always look forward to the next installments. We do not get the chance very often to watch the maturing of both characters and actors and this franchise has given us both those things. That is why I do think that with the maturity of the people within the story happens so should the content of the story. The Harry Potter fans -well the targeted fans that is, people my age really don't count- are growing up as well, and they want to see more adventure and more thrilling situations.

I couldn't be happier with the growing popularity of fantasy pictures these days. I hope the genre continues to grow and if the Harry Potter movies continue to stretch our imagination, I see it becoming increasingly demanded.

It looks good man!

Over the years I've found Harry Potter movies a little weak. It seems they're holding back and keeping it entertaining for the children and the adult audience. It's a smart move, but I would want things more darker and deeper. Maybe for Harry to actually show his true powers and be able to generate them at will? A true king of wizards. Maybe it's too early to show that, but maybe it's not, as he is shown to have great potential and it's time to show himself and everyone else that he has no equal. Maybe in this coming movie they will show his superiority among other wizards. Maybe I will check it out in theaters again? Maybe?

The Harry Potter franchise is huge both for children as well as adults...I happen to find the books highly entertaining. The movies are actually doing quite well in keeping with the story line and watching how the kids grow and mature on screen is just awesome. This is one of the most succesful movie franchises I have ever seen. Each movie is put out with great quality. This next one looks to surpass all of them to date. All the actors are top notch at the parts they are playing. I honestly think that if this series keeps doing what it is doing then it will be one of the only franchises to have a completly successfull book series as well as a movie series.

Excellent! I thought this was gonna debut later in the month, so I wasn't expecting to see the thing pop-up for a while. Great trailer - MadEye Moody's eye looks cool, however he's nowhere near as creepy-looking as I pictured his in the book. He's not missing parts of his face! Oh well, there's things that just wouldn't have worked on film I suppose. Other than him looking different than I though he would, this gives us an excellent peak of the film.

If you can't get it from the above location, I have the 17.5MB .mov version available for downloading here: http://www.trysop.com/blog

Eh? I take it you don't read the books.

I'd like the series on film to follow the series in book and that's really where all this is coming from. It's not an original creative decision on the part of the director. I've found the good quality of the trailers a relief as I was incredibly skeptical of the director as who had done "Mona Lisa"--movies don't get any blander than that film.

I think the footage seen so far for the latest Harry Potter film looks fanstatic! I too, was skeptical with the choice of director the only film he did that I liked was Four Weddings and Funeral. Mona Lisa's smile was pure crap. However, it looks as if he's taken the 4th novel seriously and isn't trying to tone it down.

I hope when the actual film is released we find our expectations are correct. This book has a dark ending and I hope they don't leave a bit of it out.

Book 5 is dark all the way through, not to mention rather large, so I'm a little worried to see how it will eventually translate to flim.

All in all the movies have been such fun and translating decently to film. While the last movie was my favorite cinematically, I think some key parts of the book were left out.

I find it entertaining sometimes when someone comments on my comments.

Arethusa,

Yes, you've caught me, I'm not big into books, but more into movies. Again, I still feel strong about my suggestion earlier, and yes I would enjoy the movies more if they pulled that off, "maybe" even the books.

And the answer to your question would be "No, I wouldn't stop eating spicy food even if my entire body was a hot air balloon." :o)

I honestly think that this film will be better than the others but it will still lack the harry potter "feel" that only the books can convey.
