Eddie Izzard in Super Ex

The star that is Eddie Izzard is rising in the west with the news from Coming Soon that he's added to the cast for the Uma Thurman starrer Super Ex.

Anna Faris and Eddie Izzard have signed on to join Uma Thurman and Owen Wilson in Ivan Reitman's Super Ex for Regency Enterprises, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The comedy centers on a man (Wilson) who learns that his girlfriend (Thurman) is a superhero and breaks up with her when she becomes too controlling and neurotic. She then uses her powers to torment and embarrass him.

Faris will play Hannah, the love interest of Wilson's character. Izzard will play Professor Bedlam, the story's villain.

The cast is fair hotting up for this one, and with Reitman directing it could well be a laugh and a half...or just the half! What do you say, do you think that the hot cast is an indication of a good comedy?

Good lord, Izzard is becoming the new Tim Curry. "Well, he's British, see...and people have seen him in makeup. So we're going to cast him as a heavy. People will love it when he's defeated." Heavens forbid we cast him in a leading role. Of course he's not 19, is he?

Eddie will be cool as a super villain in a comedy :)

But i Have to say, the whole super hero thing is getting a *nit* over done.

I love seeing Eddie Izzard in films. I can understand why he doesn't get the leads - it's because he'd steal the whole show. He's too good to put up front. That's why he does stand-up comedy - he has no one to compete with. Not that anyone really could! I think he delves into the jungle that is Hollywood in order to make some extra cash to fund his touring acts around the globe. As do most fantastic actors! Do a big movie, and then return to the live stage where the real magic happens!

Eddie Izzard is to me having trouble finding THAT one big role to take him into bankable star catagory.

I love Eddie and he is the Ultimate Scene Stealer in every movie he is in ,you find yourself drawn to Eddie's character not the marquee star in the scene. Even if he has not many lines,it's the expression on his face and what he does with his eyes draws you in to the scene. Not many actors have that gift. Eddie does.

And It's funny how many reviews of "The Brothers Grimm" have said Matt Damon's charactization is very Eddie Izzard like.

He just ain't a Bloke in a Dress with fantastic make-up, but becoming a formiible actor. Good Luck to Eddie in Super X
