Revenge of the Sith DVD Release date

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith now has it's DVD release date. And that date is November 1, 2005. Say all you want about the latest 3 Star Wars films, the DVD's have been just frickin awesome. They really revolutionized how to do "Special Features" on a DVD. Watching how ILM does it's magic, the work done at Skywalker Sound, the Editing Process... no other DVD has ever made me appreciate the whole process of bringing a motion picture to the screen as the Star Wars DVDs have.

So now the saga will really be complete. The good folks over at the BBC give us this:

The two-disc DVD will include a documentary produced by Lucasfilm, and features on stunts and Anakin Skywalker's turn to the Dark Side. Lucas said he wanted to chronicle everything that went into making the final film for the DVD release.
Sounds great to me. I'll be buying it the minute Blockbuster opens it's doors. And yes... I am still a geek of the highest order.

The movies may suck but the DVDs were/are awesome...no argument.

Think we'll get a commentary track from the actors this time?

Ehr, Grant, how can the movies suck but the DVDs awesome? Isnt it the same film, or are you talking about the features in the DVDs?

Very odd indeed, ala 3P0. LOL

This is great news and I look forward to completing my collection. I look forward even more for the next box set which I will still have to buy.

What I want to know, is there to be any added scenes in the movie, or extended footage. I like watching the featurets but what I really want is a longer movie with more geek BS that only is important to me and other super fans.

I want to see the extended version of the Opening Space Battle. I read in a book called "The making of Episode III" that the battle was originally 40 minutes, but they cut it down to about 20.

The movies weren't as good as the original trilogy, but they dont suck. I thought Revenge of the Sith to be quite good actually. And while the DVD's are very well put together, the extended versions of The Lord of the Rings trilogy are by far the best DVD's if you're into seeing how the movies were made.
