Ghost Rider trailer

GhostRiderHellCycle-Superherohype.jpgWow, what a day for trailers and Nicolas Cage. Here he is in Ghost Rider.

The trailer is over at MovieWeb and needs Quicktime 7 to play (it works one hell of a lot better than WMP I can tell you), and I went in to watch this thinking poor man's comic adaptation, and we know in this movie world right now that means particularly bad.

Well, I have to say, I think it looks rocking. Okay, yes I'll give you clever editing and nothing really going on, but it worked with me. I'm flaming for this one. Something that especially caught my eye were the supporting cast. Sam Elliot who appears to be his friend is just superb on screen, one of those guys your eyes and ears are just drawn to. Then there's Wes Bentley who just looks superb as a baddie...mind you who's good in this movie...and finally I was struck by the awesome might of Peter Fondaas Mephisto.

Are excited about this now? I certainly am.

Well Ghost Rider is an awsome and dark comic book, so the movie should be excellent. I want to see Cages flesh melt as the flames of Zathorio manifest and ignit his whole body in a flame. And I want to his his bike turn into the Hell cycle. Now as for this films creators, if they fucked up with this, and I am pissed after I leave the theatre, they are dumbasses. You cannot fuck this movie up unless your just completly in it for the money and have no heart in it. The story in the comic book is already there, no real changes needed when making this a movie.

Darko, all working fine here. Once you have QT7 that is.

It looks really bad and Cage is miscast in this movie. It should be someone half his age and who's not balding.

Thanks for the tip Chris. Seems that this trailer is now being passed off as a Comic-Con teaser and nothing more. Looked like a lot of effort to me. Perhaps the crowds weren't so happy with it.

Cage is mis-cast in most movies. Pretty much able to play himself or maybe the tall sad bloke from friends or maybe that mono-tone english guy who was in king arthur.

Boring, bland and definitely won't be watching anything either three will be in.

It's my understanding the teaser went over extremely well over at the recent Comic-con.
A brief snippet was also shown on "extra" when doing a report on the Comic con.

The reason why it was pulled is because the visual effects for the film are in the final stages at this time:

Sony released a statement explaining the situation:

"Ghost Rider only recently wrapped principal photography, and the footage that appeared on this site represents the earliest version of a character that has not been fully rendered. While we were pleased with the overwhelming enthusiasm the footage received at Comic Con, this special convention piece was never intended for release on the internet. A final look of Ghost Rider is a long way from being realized and we look forward to your feedback more than a year from now when the film makes it way to theaters.'
