Mirrormask trailer

mirror.jpgI'd forgotten totally about this movie, in the current age of hype until you've shown every inch of a film and the media is saturated with it, all had gone quiet and my focus had been taken elsewhere.

Geek Roar have pulled me right back though and brought me to the latest trailer for Mirrormask. Boy it looks creepy, when Leopoldo says he fears this movie you can see why once you've seen it. Everything looks off kilter, and some of those imagined creatures look very odd indeed.

Something different and something wonderful I think. What are your feelings after watching the trailer?

Looks intriguing. It's kind of hard to tell what it's about exactly or whether it's aimed at kids or adults. The imagery looks surreal and cool though.

I didn't like the Dark Crystal, but I'll still see this on day one.

I can't believe it. To see Dave McKean's "style" come to life and move is just fantastic!

Looks like a Tool video.

saying it looks like a Tool video is an insult to Tool videos...

but it does look like a music video...

I think this looks terrible. The effects are cheesy and rendered so softly you cant see whats going on...

I've never been a fan of this guys artwork though either, and seeing it animated, how each shot is so busy... grrr..

Intriguing film that could be possibly cool, but that trailer sucks ass. The music blows, and what's with the constant narration? Hey, how about SHOWING us what this story is about, instead of having a disconnected voice telling us? That's not a good sign. Also, opening the trailer with a bunch of critic blurbs is not a good sign either.

The entire trailer suggests that the people behind the marketing know that the film itself is going to be a hard sell, or it might not be that good. :(
