Knight Rider's Kitt car silenced?

KnightRider.jpgI love the fact that David Hasselhoff appears to be incredibly cheesy and no one will admit to liking his programmes in public, and yet you can't help but love shows like Knight Rider. You have to admit it, Hasselhoff knows about pure entertainment. Not only that, he carries with him a strong idea of what he wants and he won't pander to anyone else.

Take this story from Oldies 108 which tells us just that.

Knight Rider has endured a two year delay - because movie bosses wanted to mute the show's trademark talking car, Kitt.

But David Hasselhoff, who starred in the original 1982 TV series and is taking the lead in the upcoming remake, has insisted the vehicle have a voice of its own or he wouldn't make the film.

He says, "It's stupid. There's no film without a talking car.

"So we waited for two years and we won. The car will talk."

Good man. Can you imagine watching a the movie and not having Kitt talk? When cars are talking back to you in real life and telling you which way to drive? What's left if you take away the talking element? You've got a movie based on a Bond car, or the car from xXx...that will be good how?

Just another example of the idiotic studio executives (and I deliberately use small letters there). Role on a Knight Rider movie with a talking car and Hasselhoff, I'll pay to see that.

How can you have a Knight Rider movie without a talking car? I don't understand how execs (the suits) think. One thing that I imagine will not make it to the movie is KITT's scanner... like in TKR. To me the scanner's a signature component also, but I'd much rather have the car talk than have a scanner if they going to mess with the car.

ETRE ET AVOIR

Etre et avoir is a film on life. How beautiful is to remember the warm closeness of those fundamental persons that as kids we used to believe were belonging to us, to discover only later that they just were magnificently doing their job. Perhaps those persons did belong to us and we were indispensable to them as they were to us. As life always supers art, this documentary is more enchanting than any film focusing on the patient job of teaching etre et avoir and, at once, the value of humanity. While JoJo will discover that we can count forever, Monsieur Lopez has to explain to Olivier that pain is part of life. Were we right in discussing those things? he movingly asked to his affectionate girl unable to articulate. Yes, so is life, beautiful agricultural landscapes that have to be ploughed, and time will come to say good-bye to the Maitre, not only because next year there will be a new course but also because he will retire after 20 years teaching at the school of Puy-de-Dome, in the heart of Auvergne.

What about William Daniels? I cannot even imagine hearing ANYONE play K.I.T.T. other than good ol' William Daniels!!! What the freaking heck do the executives think they know about Knight Rider if they are DARING to silence K.I.T.T. At Least Hasslehoff is on our side. But what of William Daniels?

And how about Bonnie? and R.C-3. Is Patricia McPhereson involved in any way? I wouldn't mind HER at all... and Reginald Cornelius the Third was funny!

Rest in Peace, Devin Miles... uh... Edward Mulhare.

In shorts the movie KNIGHT RIDER would'nt be any good if the so called the hollywood executives would take away the most important elements of the KNIGHT RIDER movie such as SCANNER and K.I.T.T's VOICE,i mean they both are the important element's of the KNIGHT RIDER as far as the scanner is concerned K.I.T.T should also be allowed to have it because that scanner made the simple black transam (if that's what it's called)a very popular modern car's of it's time so i beleive that KNIGHT RIDER should have both SCANNER and K.I.T.T's VOICE and also the most important element that made the original 1982 KNIGHT RIDER tv series popular is the presence of it's main lead character i-e DAVID HASSLEHOFF as MICHAEL KNIGHT.

i agree you have to have k.i.t.t. speak, and i am happy to hear he will. gotta have the scanner as well. the big question is what type of car will they use for this timeline , remember the red one from (if my memory is right) knight 2000 kitt was put into that body at the end so will it be that or a newer style. which the one was a modified mitshubitshi(for give my spelling) 3000gt, but looking forwaord to the movie.
