I loved the early series of ER, and some of the episodes with Anthony Edwards were the most moving I've seen. He's one of those actors who doesn't really seem to have to try, and everything just appears so naturally to him. I think it's also a credit to that show that there were, and are, so many actors on that show that can do just that. It's also about time he got a slice of the decent movie pie.

So it's good news to hear that David Fincher's long awaited movie Zodiac is to star Edwards. From Variety through Rope of Silicon:

The serial-killer thriller, based on Robert Graysmith's novel, has nabbed the likes of Anthony Edwards, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr. and Jake Gyllenhaal. Edwards will portray the partner of the lead police investigator (Ruffalo) on the case. Edwards' character suffers a nervous breakdown due to the assignment.

This movie promises loads even before we knew anything about it, as soon as we knew the words Fincher and Serial Killer, I think the expectations were set high. Let's hope he delivers, and I really don't see that as being too much of a problem do you?
