Mission Impossible 3 stars walked out

Also check out Rotten Tomatoes Mission Impossible 3 or FilmForce Mission Impossible 3

MI3.jpgAnanova is carrying a story that says both Scarlett Johansson and Carrie-Anne Moss walked from Mission: Impossible III rather than because of rewrites.

Frankly it would seriously surprise me if either of them walked knowing that Abrams was stepping in. Mind you, perhaps it's not going as well as we would think?

Screen beauty Scarlett Johansson has quit Mission Impossible III after months of confusion and delays. The Lost In Translation star was slated to star opposite Tom Cruise in the much-hyped sequel. But she pulled out after dozens of script changes and delays, Glamour magazine reports. Matrix actress Carrie-Anne Moss has also dumped her role.

Is that so? Well I still feel the same way: Moss and Johansson are much much better off.

I thought that was how the MI movies are supposed to be made: Without a script.

As long as Kenneth Branagh doesn't walk, I'm still good. :P

This post may be way out of line, and it has nothing to do with both actresses either, but I am a little bit pleased that they have left the production.

Oftentimes I feel that action movies are mellowed down with too many women characters and that it weakens the plot of the film. I dont want to sound like anything else here, I am woman and I also like to see women in action films, but I thought MI2 though very good, was weakened by the inclusion of Thandie Newton, did she really have to be there all pouting and all vulnerable?

Now if both Johansson and Moss were training for a lot of action, then that's different.

In the case of the MI series, Simone, the films suck (or "are mellowed down" if you prefer) because A) they are intentionally made and marketed for a PG-13 audience and B) they shoot them without a script -- really. In the first, the script was rewriten as they were shooting. In the second, they didn't have a complete script as they were shooting. It was written as they were shooting, quite literally, and improvised on set

Johansson and Moss probably did the smart thing in pulling out. We have no idea what characters they were going to play -- and they probably didn't either. Phillip Seymour Hoffman (who was originally tagged to play the villain) saw what was up and declined to take part in this bullshit.
