Trailers for your PSP

psp.jpgSpecial thanks for Joseph for pointing this one out to me. A nice site called 29Guide has posted up some great downloads for your new PSP. The treats include a new trailer for Batman and some footage of Hitchhiker's Guide too. I wish I could tell you more... but I'm too poor to own a PSP. Did I mention the Paypal donation button on the bottom of the sidebar?

I own a PSP and I would advise anyone who doesn't wanan drop another 150$ to not buy it... because unless you spend that extra 150 for the mememory upgrade you arnt going to be able to do anything with your PSP except look at it and say "wow.. I have a PSP.."

Ray you poor individual... PSP is so sweet with a 1GB mem stick that it's worth selling a kidney for...
Watching a whole movie 'ripped from DVD', listening to many albums worth of music and then firing up Metal Gear Acid or Wipeout Pure - these are the finer things in life and they do come at a price but for me it was MORE THAN WORTH IT!!
/ says a guy who imported his PSP to the UK because he just had to have it...

I can get the idea using the PSP for gaming and listening to music, but movies?

It would drive me mad watching a movie on a tiny screen in nothing more than stereo, or psuedo surround.

Nah, I prefer a big screen and DD or DTS for my movie and gaming experience.

Damn straight!

Posted by: Richard Brunton at April 5, 2005 05:38 PM

Hey Rich, that's what everybody (including myself) says... and then they experience a movie on the PSP and suddenly the glorious screen in your lap sucks you in and the crystal clear digital sound via headphones takes you there - and goddamn it you've missed your stop and find yourself at the end of the line (but with a big grin on your face - well I did after watching Dead Man's Shoes yesterday!)...

Sorry Matt, I just really can't go for it. It's everything that movies should not be for me.

I agree about movies on the PSP. If you want to watch DVDs on the go then get a portable DVD player. The PSP screen is way to small for movies. I'm a big fan of foriegn movies and reading subtitles would be a huge pain.

As far as gaming goes , I'm still not that interested. It's like 90% PS2 ports. Once it gets its footing and a few killer apps I'll consider it , but for now I wont.

Hey - each to their own I guess but Pudie, there's a certain satisfaction to beating a complete stranger or two sitting in the same carriage as you at Wipeout or Tiger Woods PGA that is hard to describe... I'm not trying to sell you a PSP - just reporting back on the joy that the little black box has brought me!!

Rich - have you seen 'Below'? Am watching it today on PSP and am very impressed by it. Quality B movies about haunted submarines like this are few and far between...

Well i still havent gotten a psp. But it sure would be great to have one. I have a portable dvd player a palm pilot gameboy and a lot of othre things. All those things end up being in a pile of electronics. But im thinking about gettin one after the price goes down....................way down!lol! So i can enjoy it while knowing that my parents didnt pay too much for it.If any one kjnows does it have a camera in it?

Well, everybody that I know that says stuff about the movie screen being too small eats their words when they see Spider-Man 2 running. PSP isn't for movie buffs that want to have all the extras and stuff on their DVDs. It's not for that. As far as movies are concerned, it's about people that are on the go and still want to get some movie watching done. It's a high def screen, 16 X 9, you get excellent battery life compared to portable DVD players and it's small enough to be comfortable in your hands.

As far as games and such, I have more fun with Ridge Racer PSP than I do with the PS2 version. Could go on for days, but just wanted to point that out about the movies. It's not a DVD substitute, but it's great for people who have to take business trips, etc and want some entertainment on the go.
