If this is true, then I hope this works out for Tony Jaa, because I'm really tired of always seeing "The evil Asian martial artist, against America" roles, that seem to be popping up way too often.
I'd hate to see Tony Jaa typecasted as such, in future Hollywood films. He has the charisma and the moves to be an international star.

We posted an article about it at Twitch a while back with a link to the original source ... a search there (www.twitchfilm.net) will turn it up ... Jaa has been pretty open about wanting to do american films while also continuing with his work in Thailand and other parts of Asia ... this would be a nice, high profile entry point for him and I'm all for it as long as he's selective i.e. goes the Zhang Ziyi route rather than the Jackie Chan route.

Yes i agree with u Ali kay Alpha, not just cos ur a member of our 9 lives stunt/martial art team currently based in australia. But because i to am a huge fan of tony ja's work, and i too feel he is a great martial artist and praise him for his extream stuntwork ability and kicka** skills just as the younger jackie chan. i also hope he wont be forced down by the sucky Hollywood standards of using wires and special effects and SCHLIIIINGS!!! Ong Bak rules for its realism and no wire or computer graphics and even come close to a good old real king hit elbow to a mans skull!!!! can i get an AMEN!!!

Yes i do agree with Ali and Will, not cos we are Part of Australias 1st professional Parkour/stunt/martial arts team but becos we know all about tony Ja , his potentioal, his movies and his life. Maby cos we are big fans or maby cos we met him personally when he was in Australia during the filmin of his new upcomming film, Tom Tung Goong, we had a long chat with Tony and he gave us Good pointers that i think have helped us develop vastly at an amazing rate. Now that we are booked out with gigs and low budget movies offers i think i can say that if i say that i said that tony Ja is good and will become a popular success as an international martial arts icon then i said it and its right. People are saying hes the new Bruce Lee, but i must say, yes tony Ja is good but not Bruce lee good.......Yet. The road is long with many winding turns that who leads to who knows where until he reaches that sort of stardom and greatness. Bruce Lee was one of Tonys inspirations as a young child, he told me so when i asked the question " Tony who were some of your inspirations that drove you to become who you have become?" he looked at me and he said in his tai accent " Ricky, when i was a young boy i watched allot of open cinema from a man who used to come by the town. he used to play jackie chan and bruce lee movies and as i watche i knew that i wanted to be like them. i practiced everyday till i could do the mave as good as the master." You see Bruce Lee was a ledgend and even though he has passed he still casts a very dark shadow over the martail arts industry which most of todays upcommers are having trouble to overcome, including tony. I say dont try to be better than Bruce Lee or even jackie chan, just try to be equal and bask in their reflected glory....REFLECTED GLORY!!!
Bruce Lee wasnt just a great Martial artist he had a whole philosophy of mind that followed. But i predict big things for Tony Ja, as i feel he is the best new martial art icon since jean cluade van damme( at the point of his prime, not now, im talking kickboxer and bloodsport baby!)
I look forward to hear of any of Tony's upcumming movies to be filmed in australia so he can offer us some parts in the stunt division, he said if he comes back he will definatly speak to the director. I hope he does cos now i have my skydiving and stuntdriving downpacked and fully licsensed!!!. Plus i graduate to red sash at kung fu at the end of this year!!!!!
