Frankie Muniz joins "Stay Alive"
Staying on the theme of bad ideas, Mr. Malcom in the Middle, Frankie Muniz (of the HORRIBLE Agent Cody Banks films) has apparently decided to cast of the awkward young teen image and decided to dive into a horror flick. Usually I'd say it's a good idea to try to diversify yourself as an actor... BUT...
You gotta be more picky about the films you decide to re-invent your career with. And "Stay Alive" sounds more like a stupid career killer. The good folks over at Cinema Confidential give us this info about the project:
...a film about a group of young friends in New Orleans who reconnect for the funeral of a pal who died while playing a video game called "Stay Alive." They discover that murders are being acted out in real life by the spirit of a local legend that might have come through the game with murderous intentions.Anyone who is even SLIGHTLY interested in seeing this film raise your hands. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Sounds like a really bad version of Ender Game. But if he dies I'll be happy.

Re-invent? Perhaps a metamorphesis from child to adult actor is what he's aiming for. Not many do it successfully. I'm inclined to see what he does with it. Has the feel of one of those "chancy" crossroads sort of things.

Is it just me or is this guy milking his TV show for all he can get. This guy CANT act and looks like all the former child stars that fell.....cute as a kid and really messed up in the Adult years!

What are you talking about? Frankie is adorable not to mention a great child actor. He hasn't been seen in a horror flick so I think he just wants to try something new! If the movie stinks and has bad ratings, that's okay, and Frankie will learn from his mistakes. I know Frankie by e-mail and he is a very smart and nice guy.

Sounds like that movie with the Terminator2 kid with the video game and the guy with the big red hair...Anybody know what I'm talking about?
