The Rock is Johnny Bravo
Hold the phone. Where the heck have I been? Apparently The Rock has been cast to play one of the funniest (IMHO) cartoon characters around. Johnny Bravo! This is pure perfection in casting. I seriously can't think of another person who would be better for this role. When it comes to sporting pure attitude, The Rock is they guy.
The good folks over at Empire give us this:
Meanwhile, we teased out a few tidbits about the Best Cartoon Character Ever (well, one of them), Johnny Bravo, the Elvis-wannabe who His Rockness is still scheduled to play in the live-action adaptation. "The script is so funny and we're just waiting for the right opportunity, waiting for the script to get even better. I'm on a quest to find my dad, and I think it's Wayne Newton, and it's insane, it's so funny. "Oh boy... this has the potential to be REALLY BAD. And yet at the same time the potential to be so funny. I'm excited.

heh, just the other day (after seeing the trailer for BE COOL again) i was thinking that the rock would be best suited to playing cartoon characters.

Well this has been rumored for about 5 years or so, from what I remember. I have no excitement for this project, mostly 'cause the show feels nothing like the original 1997 era cartoon network.
Why not market a much stronger property from the network's library? Samurai Jack, anyone?
Oh and they changed the style of the PowerPuff Girls. Why? I loved 1998 era style! Changed? Why?

I totally enjoyed the cartoon, but I think the movie is a little late on the popular demand. Cartoon Network hardly shows the cartoon anymore. Scooby Doo (and all it's versions) has more air time.

Johnny Bravo is the MAN...what the hell is wrong with you haters up there. The Rock playing him is about as good as it gets...It will be good to have a goofball movie like this come out. And of course it is going to be stupid (in a good way) that is what it is meant to be. How can you not love the Llloooovveee Mmmaaacchhiinnnee!!! Everybody do the Monkey!!!!!!
