Quentin Tarantino reveals Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair!

QuentinTarintino.jpgI'm calm...and taking deep breaths...but it's not working, I'm excited as hell!

Coming soon directed me through to FilmFocus.co.uk where they have an interview with one of the most stylish Directors of our time, Quentin Tarantino, perhaps also one of the most overhyped, that can be your call!

Whatever you feel, the Kill Bill movie duo is set to come together, and it looks like we're all going to get a chance to see the full, uncut version.

"Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is definitely getting a wide release," he told us, "actually, that'll probably be the first movie that Miramax, under their new company, will be releasing theatrically. It's the Japanese version, that's why I call it that, you know, it should probably come out in the next few months. It's going to be NC-17 in America. We couldn't do that when Disney owned the place but now Disney's the fuck outta there we can do anything we want! It's gonna be off the hook

Oh lordie. That does excite me more than a deep fried Pizza! It would be good to see both movies together, he has always said (and it definitely feels like) it was two acts rather than two movies. Plus with the violence upped a notch, it could play out very well for him and the company.

So what's next on the line up, considering there's no Jason or Bond?

"I want do a Mandarin language movie, but I'm not sure it'll be the next movie. It'll probably be the next movie I do after the one I do next. I'm doing Inglorious Bastards next. It's my bunch-of-guys-on-a-mission movie. It's my World War 2 movie."

Cool on both parts. How can you not be excited about something this man turns out? How can you not wait in anticipation? There's always something about his movies that attract you to them. I wasn't a great fan of Kill Bill 2, and thought 1 was much better, but I can still see the movie and appreciate the many spectacular and visually enticing moments.

He goes on to give a couple of his favourite movies of the year, these two stood out for me.

"My favourite movie this year was Shaun of the Dead," he said, "that was my favourite script this year, that was my favourite movie this year...I really loved this magnificent Russian fantasy that's going to be the Lord of the Rings for Russia, which is called Nightwatch.

Shaun! That confirms this man has taste galore, and what of this Russian film? Sounds quite interesting and with the QT seal of approval. I feel I shall be searching it out presently.

Man oh man I cant wait for Inglorius Bastards. QT takes any genre he's working in and turns it to 11. This should be great.

On the subject of NIGHTWATCH, there is lots of information around the usual sites: AICN, Twitchfilm, etc.

The movieblog is blocking external links at the moment, so you will have to cut and paste into your browsers address line if you wish to read my review of NIGHTWATCH: http://kurtscomment.blogspot.com/2004/10/night-watch.html

The Russian film is "Nochnoy dozor", search for that and you will find it has many, many fan boys. I want to see it...so I guess I'm one too!

They should buy back your shitty "no frills" DVDs when they release the "super extended enhanced multiple-disc director's cut" I'm tired buying a DVD and then feeling like I wasted my money because like a year later they decide to put out a better version of it. Bastards. I still don't own Army of Darkness because everytime I go to the store there are 3 new versions of the DVD.

Posted by: adam at March 15, 2005 05:52 PM

adam...AMEN to that (especially Army of Darkness)! I'm surprised the Movie blog has not had a thread on DVDsploitation....

Oh boy! QT sucks. He is the worst director ever. Everything made by him is total crap.

Posted by: Joe at March 15, 2005 07:01 PM

Everything Joe? What about "Reservoir Dogs"?

Posted by: Simone at March 15, 2005 07:11 PM

Please inform us how QT sucks. And who u think is better.

Posted by: Sid Vicious at March 15, 2005 07:37 PM

QT is great- sure,he not the greatest director, and he can be sloppy at times, but what he gives us is usually so great you forget about the little imperfections. As a whole,I enjoy his stuff more than anybody else and can't wait for the REAL BILL.
I have the Japanese version- is the rumor basically that it'll be that +vol2? Or is there other scenes that haven't been released yet?More gore not shown in any country yet? Tell me they'll put in GoGo's sister (Yuki?)when she comes out for revenge after Bride kills Vernita. (it's why Pussy Wagon is gone in Vol2,gets blown up fighting Yuki - in script)- I don't think they ever shot that, but I'd love to see it in anime form at least.
If anyone knows anyother cut scenes that may make it,post away!

QT great.

QT is one of my favorite directors. The one thing we can say about most of his movies is that, they are not easily forgettable. They stick with you for a long time. I think this is because he is so different than most of the "mainstream" directors in Hollywood. The man definitely has a unique vision and a way of telling great stories!

Posted by: diskjokk at March 16, 2005 07:53 AM

Resevoir Dogs did kind of suck. I didn't see all of it, but it wasn't that great, the parts that I did see. And have you seen Kill Bill?! I hated that movie so much! I don't see how people like it. I think Cursed was a better movie than that.

Posted by: Joe at March 16, 2005 04:18 PM

joe, you gotta be kiddin' me?! resevoir dogs is one of my favorite qt movies, next to true romance (i know he didn't direct it) and from dusk till dawn. the dialogue in RD is awesome, i could have watched 2 hours of them talking about "'like a virgin' is a metaphor for big dicks"... brilliant. the cast of characters, (mr. pink being one of my favorites), well done.

QT isn't really a great director, he just knows what's hot. he's got the pop culture down to a science and that's what makes him so popular.

"Resevoir Dogs did kind of suck. I didn't see all of it, but it wasn't that great, the parts that I did see".

Then it wouldnt be a fair judgment dont you think having not seen the whole film?

Hey Triflic, I remember you doing this to another poster in the past. Cute, very cute. *winks*

Posted by: Simone at March 17, 2005 01:29 PM

Yeah, I heard about the uncut Japanese version of the film. Can anyone tell me what exacly is different about it? Or point me to a link?

Posted by: domdunc at March 17, 2005 03:05 PM

Wait I answered my own question: Screenshots of the differences can be found here, (a German site)

"QT isn't really a great director, he just knows what's hot. he's got the pop culture down to a science and that's what makes him so popular."

Doesn't that make him a great Director?

"I think this is because he is so different than most of the "mainstream" directors in Hollywood. The man definitely has a unique vision and a way of telling great stories!"

I would call him "mainstream" now, after Kill Bills and all that jazz.

Posted by: telemoraga at March 18, 2005 08:24 PM

He is mainstream in the sense of he knows geniously what's cool and what people will look at and say "that's so cool".

What makes him so distinctive and unique from mainstream directors is his unique approach to telling the story.

FUCK QT, HE SUCKS. Now don't get me wrong, he IS A GREAT DIRECTOR.
But a horrible writer, and a female power rising supporter.
So fuck him :)

You give people named Joe and bad name Joe.

QT is the shiznit.
