Ghost Rider casting updates

GhostRider.jpgThere was so much talk of Ghost Rider for so long and nothing happened. Cage was in, out, not sure, movie not being made...now we're hearing about casting news right, left and on screen.

Next up is the in talks status of Matt Long for the role of young Ghost Rider. Coming Soon bring us the news from the Hollywood Reporter:

Matt Long, who stars as Jack in The WB's Jack & Bobby, is in talks to play a younger version of the title character played by Nicolas Cage in Columbia Pictures' [18]Ghost Rider, says The Hollywood Reporter. The movie stars Cage as a former motorcycle stuntman named Johnny Blaze who agrees to let his body become host to a vengeful spirit -- becoming a bike-riding demon in the process -- to secure the safety of his true love, to be played by Eva Mendes. Long would play a young Johnny, who makes the deal with the devil.

Oh, and if you hadn't noticed that, Eva Mendez is in to play Long's\Cage's young ladyfriend.

I've never been a fan of Nic Cage, but I have faith in Mark Steven Johnson's ability to bring a comic book story to the big screen. I'm one of the few that actually liked Daredevil, and I think that it was much better than people give it credit for. The adaptation from comic to screen on Daredevil was excellent as far as I'm concerned.Alter Ego Comics
