Feed - A thriller about men who make women fat?!

Lard.jpgI'm having a seriously bizarre day. I've just watched St John's Wort and now this story from Coming Soon:

Brett Leonard is directing Feed, a psychological thriller about a world of men obsessed with overweight women, reports Variety.

Shooting in Sydney, the film looks at a fetish where "feeders" get sexual gratification by encouraging their partners, "gainers," to put on vast weight.

Written by Kieran Galvin and produced by Melissa Beauford, Feed features Thompson as a cybercrime investigator on the trail of a man in Ohio (O'Lachlan) he suspects of force-feeding women to death. Thompson's father Jack Thompson also plays a cop.

Oh dear...okay my mind is thinking a really sick Saw and that image of the over eater from Se7en! This could be a total gross out at the Box Office!

I had to re-read this entry again carefully. Initially, I thought this was a comedy. No joke.

I don't think there is a large market for a film like this in America. No intentional jibe. As almost the fattest country in the world today and on behalf of my entire fellow American's, what a waste of film! We can saunter twenty feet to the neighbors window to see the family that has a fat fixation, while also satisfying any voyeuristic flair if need be.

Not to say it might be interesting from a psychological aspect.

We'll see...

Well there's already been a documentary on the subject, so a fiction feature is probably to be expected...

yeh, saw the documentary ... womens skins literally turning to leather through lack of care and ability to move... need to put skin lotion on the deal with skin rubbing against itself...

i can remeber the story of the woman so fat that when she ended up in hospital they found the remote for her TV inside the folds of her skin...

Justin, I'm with you. Can't see it doing much.

Just like Mark though, I thought it was a joke when I read it to start with.

...you'd be suprised how big ( scuse the pun) the interest is, and once you understand the true reality of this bizarre phenomena, perhaps your understanding behind the social relevancy of this film, will be found.

I also found the subject matter to be utterly unbelievable. It's a level of submission that boggles the mind. I say WELL done to the writers, directors and producers of films like this, who have the courage to work with material that is edgy and very relevant to society the world over. No Will Smith action hero's. ps. I stumbled across the trailer here http://www.beckerfilms.com.au

Tony, I just caught the trailer you posted and I'm actually amazed at how it feels. It looks quite good, although you know you're set for an hour of some shocking and seriously disturbing scenes.

I am a feeder and my girlfriend is a feedee. I have seen the trailer for the film and I am not that happy about it but I will see the film before jumping to any conclusions. I am a feeder and my girlfriend has put on huge amounts of weight with my encouragement.

This is a msg for "feeder"....So your a feeder and shes a feedee eh? Beforeyou go making such self depricating comments, why dont you get your facts straight, if you were truly, as you say you are, a "feeder", you would know that shes a "gainer", not a "feedee".. dont give up your day job, see the film, perhaps it'll teach you a thing or two.

Posted by: Paul at May 21, 2005 12:01 AM

Paul, "gainer" is the term usually used in the gay community, "feedee" is the term used in the straight community.

Paul,

Feeder is right. Do your homework.

hey, I'm not able to view the trailer on the website? Does anyone else know how? Well I'm not sure about this whole feeder thing, seems quite odd, but some people like it..."what can you do?"

Yeah, the trailer doesn´t work, does anybody know another source??

I'm looking for some feeder sites or videos. I have yet to find any. If you know of some, please email me.

Thank you
