Dirty Love Getting A Lot Of Priase

A while back I posted that this movie (Dirty Love) was doomed to fail. I even bet Doug on The Audio Edition that it would be horrible. Looks like I may be loosing that bet.

The following little nugget was taken from the good folks over at Monsters and Critics:

Beverly Hills Film Studios, Inc. announced today that Jenny McCarthy's "DIRTY LOVE," has just been inked for International Sales and Distribution by The Wild Bunch, who recently distributed the blockbuster film, "Fahrenheit 9/11." Domestic sales negotiations are under way with a number of studios in the bidding.

The John Asher helmed comedy, which also stars Carmen Electra and Eddie Kaye Thomas, sold out at every Sundance screening, where audience response was overwhelmingly enthusiastic as McCarthy received critical acclaim for her break out performance and screenwriting debut.

Wow! Ok, color me surprised. Hey, I'm a man, I'll admit I was wrong... AFTER I SEE IT. Maybe there is something to this film after all.

I wouldn't worry about that bet just yet.
Are you seriously leaning on "overwhelmingly enthusiastic" & "critical praise" in a press release?
These guys think they can make money on Ms.McCarthy's...uh.. "assets" overseas, and are pimping accordingly. Therefore, what they have to say on the pic has bung-all to do with whether it's worth spending 90 or so precious minutes of your life on it.
Caveat emptor.

I'm sorry, but this movie was hilarious. Its stupid, obviously, but so is American Pie and Zoolander. Some movies arent supposed to be smart and interesting. Some movies are just supposed to make you crack up, and stare at boobies. This movie will allow you to stare at a lot of boobies while you are cracking up. So peace the spork out.
