2005 MovieBlog Oscar Results

Since the nominations have started I've been tracking what the suggestions have been for winners on the nominee post. Although the number of responses wasn't impressive, perhaps a reflection on Oscar apathy, we have the results.

Before we go into them, let me say that rather than take what you thought might have won, I've taken what people have said that they wanted to win rather than what they expected. Also you'll notice a few entries that aren't supposed to be there, the ones marked MovieBlog:. They got votes, but weren't on the nominee list, still I thought they deserved to go in, they are your votes after all.

So without further ado, here are the winners.

Agreed: An opening monologue that was not pandering or simple...But funny and confrontational...
Rock was a great choice...

All over now...Anyone explain why they used the Terminator 2 score to close out the oscars?

I am hugely disappointed on the predictable prizes and Hollywood in general. Scorsese deserved it, for loveĀ“s sake!

Looks like all the pre-show Chris Rock stuff turned out to be nothing more than a product of the Buzz Machine.

I think I missed something juicy...what was Sean Penn's comment about Jude Law in response to? Did Chris Rock say something about him?

"I think you will like these next FOUR presenters"

in relation to Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz.

Sexist as hell, but funny because he got away with it...

The worst ceremony in DECADES! Not only due to the horrid results. Not only due to that. TERRIBLE OSCARS!!!
