Superman Returns casting moves closer to official confirmation

SupermanLogo.jpgAn update from Reuters through Yahoo confirms for us the news that Kate Bosworth is indeed in negotiations for Lois Lane:

The casting of Lane was a long process that ultimately rested on a chemistry test between the actress and Brandon Routh, who is playing Superman, sources said. Bosworth reportedly beat out the likes of Claire Danes, Linda Cardellini and Michelle Monaghan.

Well we kinda already new that, but it's good to get some more solid confirmation, and that's the same for the appointment of Kevin Spacey as well:

Sources said Singer wanted Spacey early on but that the Oscar-winning actor's commitment to London's Old Vic Theatre, where he is artistic director, caused scheduling snafus on the road to making a deal. Spacey, who is in rehearsals for "National Anthems" at the Old Vic, will do a limited run of "The Philadelphia Story" at the theater before moving to the Superman movie, which has a March start date.

Still no update on the IMDB cast list though. Just Superman listed so far.

Not really related, but sort off but did anyone see Desperate Housewives? How great did Teri Hatcher look? (she played Lois once, so do you see my link?)

On a more related note, I do have high hopes for this film. I did think at first that Superman should not be revisted, but the casting so far (if it all turns out) seems to be spot on. Never seen Rooth, but Singer is no fool, and im sure he will be a good Sup's. Spacey adds the legitimacy and quality acting to Luther and Bosworth not only adds eye candy, but also she can act! What over major roles are left to cast cast? What other baddies will there be?

I think Bosworth will be a miscast, a real brunette should be better.

In another post I mentioned Emmy Rossum, she will be better cast as Lois Lane. She seems spunky to me too.

Ohhh Emmy Rossum is a good idea. She was a babe in the Phantom movie -lots of heaving breast shots-. But I think she is a bit on the young side.

So far so good... The cast looks great! Little weary of teh casting of (Cyclops) James Marsden as a love interest for Lois. They shoudl stick to teh comic continuity. Lois & Clark should get hitched. I am sure the movie will be spectacular with Singer at the helm of teh DC Flagship icon. Been waiting years for this to actually get a green light!
