Sarah Jessica Parker in Shrek 3

jessicaarkier4.jpgFile this one under the category of "News my girlfriend and all her friends will love to hear". Looks like former Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker has signed on to do one of the voices in the upcoming Shrek 3.

The Shrek series has turned out to be a solid one. Not fantastic films, but very entertaining and doesn't seem to "get old" (you know what I mean?). The good folks over at Monsters and Critics offer up this:

The former "Sex and the City" star is quotes as saying, "I am delighted to be doing a role that my children and friends' children will be able to see." Shrek 3 is due for a May 2007 release with the rest of the cast expected to return.
This all sounds fine. Parker is a pretty decent actress, but she doen't exactly have a unique voice that could stand out in an animated feature like Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy or John Lithgow. Then again, there's nothing really special about Cameron Diaz's voice and that turned out alright.

I agree with you about her non-descript voice, but she does have this squealing thing she used to do constantly in the last two seasons that made me want to chew off my ears with a burning frenzy. O-M-fucking-G it was awful! It was, I assume, her way of keeping her character in a little girl state all through the series. I don't really care why, really, just as long as that noise never, ever comes out of her body for as long as she lives again.

i am no so sure about this.

it blew my mind that the second one made so much money, it was a terrilbe movie. a couple laughs, but terrible.

it just seems like when a movie is so unnescesary like shrek 2, it dosn't seem to cut the mustard for miles.

Same thing was mentioned by Johnny Depp as to why he was doing all this family-oriented type of films like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". I did like "Shrek 1 & 2", but personally the best animated film will always be "Beauty and the Beast", then "The Incredibles".
