Matthew McConaughey In Failure to Launch

MatthewMcConaughey.jpgMatthew McConaughey is just one of those actors I like in just about everything he does. I can't think of any truly fantastic films he's been in (except maybe Amistad, but he's been in a lot of good ones), or any Oscar worthy performances he's given... but I just end up enjoying him in every project he works on.

Having said that, the good folks at FilmForce give us some insight into Matthew's newest project that'll he'll be working on:

According to today's edition of the Hollywood Reporter, McConaughey will star in the comedy as a thirtysomething guy whose parents trick him into meeting the love of his life in a bid to get him to finally move out of the house. Ah, the story of our lives here at IGN.
Hmmm... story of my life. Anyway, this premise sounds great. Add on top of that it's also being reported that Tom Dey, who did a fantastic job on Shanghai Noon, will direct. Good stuff all around.

Hey John, you forgot about "A Time to Kill" and "Contact", he was also brilliant in those.

It was also so kewl watching him in "Reign of Fire" along hotties like Bale and Butler.

I am a fan of Dazed and Confused.

I think 'Frailty' was a 'truly fantastic film.' Woefully underrated, and all because of the first throwaway 'twist' at the end. Besides, don't forget that killer second twist. And besides, it's a brilliantly constructed suspense film, nearly on par with The Sixth Sense.

Now that film you mentioned Luke, I havent seen yet. I was glad that you made that comment 'cause now I can at least rent it on video.

Matthew was up for that Civic Duty movie and passed. Please god Matthew, don't turn into Ben Affleck II. These romantic comedies are cookie cutter garbage.

Amy, McConaughey can ACT, I dont think I can say the same for Mr. Affleck.

Sarah Jessica Parker has been chosen as female lead. Great script by Matt Ember and Tom Astle. Megahit in the making.
