Jean Reno confirmed for The Da Vinci Code

JeanReno.jpgJean Reno is, surprise surprise, cast in The Da Vinci Code as Bezu Fache, the French Detective, said Coming Soon.

Not a great shock there, the chat on the previous posts on this role has had his name all over it, and it's the best choice all round. Might just save his career after the farce of The Pink Panther!

Now this is a great casting coup. Tom Hanks as Langdon and now Jean Reno as the feisty Bezu Fache and if they do cast Julie Delpy as Sophie Neveau, this film will surely kick butts. Please let it be Delpy!

I'd like to see John Rhys Davies play Teabing, I can see him and Hanks having this mentor-student thing going on. Any choice for Silas yet and Aringarosa?

When I read the book I had Jean Reno in my head as Bezu Fache. The guy's perfect for that role.

Still think that George Clooney is better for the role of Langdon, though.

No, no, no... Reno is all wrong. It should be Tchéky Karyo instead. And whereas Rhys Davies does indeed rock, Teabing would be much better going to someone a bit less bulky and boomy... Ian Holm, or David Thewlis, depending on the age you want him.

And Dennis Quaid was always my choice for Langdon, but he already did the academic/adventurer in "The Day After Tomorrow" last year.

ARE there any other male french actors??

Too bad they couldn't get Kevin Spacey for Robert Langdon. I would pay full price to see the movie.

The buzz going around now is that Sophie Marceau is tipped to play Sophie Neveau.

What about Delpy?
