Is Audrey Tautou chosen for Sophie Neveu in The Da Vinci Code?
Well it could be that the rumours last week were wrong, and the role of Sophie Neveu in The Da Vinci Code has been decided.
It's Audrey Tautou from Amelie, Dirty Pretty Things and the recent A very long engagement.
The story from Associated Press through The Guardian, claims that Ron Howard chose her last week, but confirmed this to her in a meeting on Wednesday...
...Le Parisien's cinema writer Alain Grasset reported without citing sources.Several celebrity actresses, including Sophie Marceau, sought the role that was finally narrowed down to Tautou and Linda Hardy, a former Miss France, according to the article.
Still, Grasset is reporting without citing his sources. Could it be?

Uh-oh, I have nothing against Tautou, but I would rather take Sophie Marceau anytime.
I still want to see Julie Delpy get the role though.

Doh! I sure hope not... what am I going to do with all those props lying around? ;]
And I think Audrey Tautou isn't right for the part. She's too fragile looking. The Sophie character is supposed to be gorgeous and confident. Tautou is beautiful, no doubt - but nothing I've seen of her in film says she can play an abrasively confident woman. That and she is simply too small to play against the huge frame of Tom Hanks. Sophie should be the equal to Langdon in every way. That being said, if Tautou gets it, I wouldn't really be THAT disappointed. Grazier / Howard could certainly do a lot worse...
