Tom Hanks finally confirmed for Da Vinci Code

DaVinciCode.jpgHow cool are we? Not only can we fix any website anywhere ever, but we also just happen to get the best movie insider news before anyone else...albeit the other cool movie websites.

It's all over the news now, Tom Hanks is confirmed for the Da Vinci Code. No way! Really? I can hardly believe it! Check out one of the many news stories from the big press, who obviously copied it from us!

Due for release May 2006 we have a long time to wait, and a lot of hype to wade through. For those of you who haven't read the book and have heard everyone talking about how good it is. Sorry to say it's not that good, and I have no idea how it will translate well to the big screen. Better to check out The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail to find out the real investigation behind it all.

Anyway, we said it two days ago! We rock...and so do you for reading this!

I love Tom Hanks, he is one of my favortie actors, second only to Al Pacino but I still dont see Hanks as Langdon. But hey, that doesnt mean he cannot pull it off, it just gives me more incentive now to watch Da Vinci Code wven if I didnt enjoy the book that much, I felt Angels and Demons was better written.

hi, I agree about being unsure about Hanks as Langdon. I am more unsettled about Ron Howard directing but thats another issue...

Who would you rather direct the film, JP?

I hope they get Julie Delpy as Sophie Neveau.

John Rhys Davies is Teabing for me.

I cannot imagine Hanks as Langdon either. I had a latin kind of guy in my mind. About Reno, I think he fits the character, although I had picture Bezu Fache as a big black man. don't know why...Hum...Teabing and Shopie I'm still waiting..Not sure about specific artists. see ya

I imagined Langdon as a younger more handsome man. Johnny Depp would have fitted perfectly. For Sophie i would recommend Gwyneth Paltrow, and who better than Marilyn Manson to play Silas .. just a head shaving and he would be perfect.

Da Vinci Code should make for a fabulous movie. Another book that's destined to become a movie is: No Greater Deception: A True Texas Story. A treasure hunt of a different kind that involves the mysterious death of a Texas lawman who had connections with LBJ, Joe Bonanno (Mafia), George Bush and the Texas Rangers. Fingers the lawman as a possible JFK assassination hit man.

Langdon should be Greg Kinnear not Tom Hanks. Teabing should be Sir Richard Attenborough (he's a sir and all), but I know his daughter and granddaughter were among the deaths in last year's tsunami, so I don't know if he is up for working. Either way NOT Tom Hanks.

Ok...for those who think Johnny Depp should be playing the role of Langdon, you've obviously have not read the book or have not taken note to the info about Langdon in the beginning of the book. Langdon is supposed to be an older gentlemen with graying hair and is intelligent. Johnny Depp would not fit under this category. Neither would Greg Kinnear because he doesn't seem to fit the intellectual type. I believe Tom Hanks is a perfect choice for this role. He has played various roles, which he has done good in all. If he can pull off Forrest Gump, then there is no doubt in my mind that he can pull off Robert Langdon!
