Shrek 3 set for May 2007
Up until this point, Shrek 3 was set for a November 2006 release date, however, the big decision makers over at Dreamworks have just concluded that a May 2007 date would be a better idea... and they're right.
Summer holds the biggest movie audiences by far. Also, a release in summer means a DVD release by Christmas... which is ALWAYS a good idea, expecially for kid friendly films. The Hollywood Reporter gives us this:
"The sheer magnitude of the 'Shrek' franchise has led us to conclude that a May release date, with a DVD release around the holiday season, will enable us to best maximize performance and increase profitability, thereby generating enhanced asset value and better returns for our shareholders," DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg said in a statement.Yeah, no kidding. Frankly I'm surprised this wasn't their plan all along.

At least I get to watch another movie staring Shrek. Hercules! Hercules!
Will the "Donkey" pick up a transvestite hooker of Sunset Blvd or will they save that for the DVD release?
What next, the three little pigs are atacked by Princess Fiona's cured hairbrush and the flying monkeys from yet another campy franchise and oh howabout something to do with like a knife wielding puppy dog and a gun toting gerbil? And let me guess, only smart ass Shrek and his nutty panding Donkey can save the endorsement(day)?

Hi i am Kim i love Shrek2 shrek1 was ok but shrek2 is loads funnier i luv Puss In Boots he is cute and funny i like donkey too.
I hope shrek3 is even more funny.

This coincides with Pixar's decision to push back the release date of my much antisipated new fave, Cars, to the summer of 200 from X-mas 2005.
