Batman Begins Poster

It's not a really big secret that besides Revenge of the Sith (yes I'm a total Star Wars Geek), the one film that I am most looking forward to is easily Batman Begins. Why? For 2 reasons. First of all it has an amazing cast filled with not just big names, but with amazing ACTORS. Liam Neeson, Ken Watanabe, Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman... holy crap my head is spinning!

But the MAIN reason I'm looking forward to this film is Christopher Nolan. I've loved the last 2 films he directed (Memento and the underrated Insomnia). The feel he brings to his films made me almost jump for joy when I heard the first rumours that he was going to helm the new Batman. Perfect choice!

So the studio has released this new poster... and I'm eating it up! There's only one thing that SLIGHTLY bothers me about... what's with Batman being out in the sun? Hmm... oh well it's just a little thing, who cares. If you wanna see a giant version of the poster you can see it here.

I think it's a sunset, representing his first dive into the night. It's kind of like the last glimmer of light before the bat "takes over". He he, at least that's how I thought of it.

Maybe its sunrise, and its the end of a long night. He is hanging his head down almost in contemplation. Same explanation would work for sunset too.

Either way, as long as there are no "biff" and "bam"s on the screen, and nothing is in neon or bright pastels, I will be happy with it.

Its got me excited too.

Great. Why does Bats look depressed? This looks almost like a promo for a fan film.

Ken Watanabe? How can you like this guy? He has only been in one hollywood movie, unless of course you have seen all the other asian ones, which I doubt it.

Nope, I haven't seen his asian work. I just saw The The Last Samurai... but that was enough for me. The guy was awsome in it. Totally stole the show from Cruise in it, and was nominated (and really should have won) for the Oscar for best supporting Actor.

So yes, until I see reason not to like him, I will like him. Just out of curiosity... how many movies do I have to see someone in before I'm allowed to have an opinion? Just so I know.

:)

Cheers.

And no more star wars movies... Gosh. What are you gonna do now? Play with Barbie dolls or cry yourself to sleep in your race car bed?
